How it was fingered

The isolated lead track gives the pitch and time of every note. A dynamic-programming pass then assigns a string and fret to each note, minimizing hand travel while pulling the hand toward the twelfth position and penalizing any drop into open position. That keeps the solo where a player really holds it, high on the neck in the twelfth position.
