What this page is
Brandon made a music book about a Shiner album called BELIEVEYOUME. Lots of different chat helpers worked on it at the same time, and they kept saving books with almost the same name in different folders. Now there are seven books and nobody could tell which one was the real, good one.
This page lines them all up, points at the real one, and gives a clean-up plan so it stops happening. The real one is the new-style "candidate" book, because it does the special kind of music reading that the teacher named ixi is famous for, listening to one sung note while the chords move under it.

The bottom line. The real deliverable is the new-style "candidate" book (BELIEVEYOUME_newstyle_candidate.pdf, 103 pages) plus the per-song v5 ixi sheets. Everything else (the 58 / 83 / 93 / 97-page "designed" PDFs and the 105 / 106-page image-rich pair) is an older lineage that should be archived, not linked. A prior chat already reconciled this on Jun 20 and the term counts below confirm it independently.
1. What matches ixi
The yardstick is the believe-you-me skill and MODEL_iximusic_sheets.html. The ixi signature is the vocal-note-vs-chord-stack close reading, the â™6 / â™VI obsession, the Super Mario cadence, sus chords, parallel 4ths and 5ths, refusing to land home, and theory tied to a feeling. I counted those exact moves in the two finalist PDFs.

Verdict, evidence-based. The candidate does the ixi close reading (voice against chord, the bright third flashing over a minor field). The designed edition does more mode labeling. The candidate wins on every signature-move count, most decisively on the third-tracking that defines this album (63 to 19). It matches ixi. The designed edition is competent music writing that is not in the ixi voice.

2. The clobber map, where files collide
Seven PDFs across five folders, all called some variant of "BELIEVEYOUME book," none with a name that tells you which is real.

Trap 1, the backwards labels. The file named STALE_backup (106p) is bigger and one page longer than the file named CURRENT (105p). The names lie about which is newer.
Trap 2, two lineages that never merged. An 8.7MB image-rich pair sits in _outputs/ while the ~0.4MB text-only PDFs sit in public/. They render different manuscripts. No file name says which lineage it belongs to.
Trap 3, the chart-vs-PDF key conflicts. /believeyoume-chart-pdf-conflicts already logged keys that disagree between the v1 charts and the pub-readiness PDF. The /believeyoume-changelog records 54 label edits on Jun 10 alone.
3. Every chat that touched it
146 transcripts mention believeyoume. 46 are real work sessions (30 or more references). They run from May 28 to Jun 20, many in parallel, which is the root cause of the clobbering.

Parallel chats, each rebuilding the same book, none aware of the others, each writing a confidently-named "current" or "final" PDF into a different folder. That is how seven books happen.

4. The fix plan, single source of truth
No deletes. Everything retired moves into a delete/ folder for Brandon to empty on his own schedule, per the never-delete rule.
- Name one canonical book. The candidate manuscript MANUSCRIPT_CANDIDATE_2026-06-11.md is the source of truth. It renders to BELIEVEYOUME_newstyle_candidate.pdf (103p). Rename the route folder to believeyoume-book so the obvious name points at the real one, and make the old believeyoume-book become believeyoume-book-designed-RETIRED.
- Name one canonical per-song set. The v5 ixi sheets at /believeyoume-v5 are the per-song deliverable. The Jun-10 believeyoume-song-pdfs are the designed-era per-song PDFs and get retired.
- Archive the five rivals. Move believeyoume_designed_preview.pdf (58p), model-rebuild (83p), book-v3 (93p), the pub-readiness 97p, and both _outputs 105/106p image-rich PDFs into delete/. Drop a RETIRED.md in each that names the survivor.
- Kill the lying names. No more files called CURRENT or STALE_backup. Date-stamp every build (_YYYY-MM-DD) and keep exactly one un-dated symlink named LATEST.pdf pointing at the newest.
- Resolve the chart-vs-PDF key conflicts. Work the open rows in /believeyoume-chart-pdf-conflicts one song per pass against the stem-verified section-mode read, which is already the documented tiebreaker.
- One owner rule. All future believeyoume edits run through one owning chat and one path. The "where's the other believe you me chat" failure mode stops when there is only one chat allowed to write the book.
