The model-rebuild page analyzes the ten-song album, so one tenth is song one, Asleep In The Trunk. This MIDI is rendered straight from that page's own notation: the eight embedded ABC scores, turned into sound, vocal line and guitars and bass kept as separate tracks.

How this MIDI was made

Every card on the model-rebuild page renders a real ABC score with three staves, vocal, guitar, and bass. Each of the eight Asleep sections was pulled verbatim, then each voice was rendered on its own with abc2midi so the file carries only the notated parts, no auto-strum. Tempo is the page tempo, ♩=173. The result was checked back against the page's own card_evidence.jsonl, the per-bar bass roots and vocal pitch-classes match, including the signature A natural over the F in the chorus, the major third the guitars leave out.

The eight sections

Intro, bass ostinato alone

The bass riff C, E♭, F states an F center with no third: root, 5, and ♭7, the third left open for the voice to color later. Four bars, no guitar, no vocal.

Verse one, A natural over F

The voice reaches A natural over the F bass, the major third the guitar withholds, the song's central tension stated in the first verse.

Verse

The same C, E♭, F bass bed carries the verse while the vocal moves through B♭, C, D♭, E♭ above a third-less floor.

Pre-chorus, the F pedal

The bass holds F for dozens of bars while the guitar voices F, then A♭, then E♭, and the vocal climbs A, B♭, C. The sung A natural rubs the guitar A♭, the sharpest friction in the song.

Chorus, first half

F5, D♭5, B♭5, A♭5. The vocal enters A then steps to F, climbs D♭, E♭, F over the D♭ chord, and holds C over A♭5, the ♭III close.

Bridge, 35 bars on F

A long F hold where the lead guitar carries the upper line. The third is stripped to a bare power center, then restored.

The chorus shape returns, the same F5, D♭5, B♭5, A♭5 descent with the vocal supplying the third.

The motion that the verses kept open finally lands: the dominant resolves home to the F center.
