BELIEVEYOUME Vocal Stem Audit

Shiner, BELIEVEYOUME (2025). Every stem set on every disk, searched by band name and by all ten song titles, counted for vocal tracks.

No BELIEVEYOUME stem set has more than one vocal track.

All ten songs separate to exactly one vocals file. There is no lead/backing split, no harmony pass, no vocal double, and no per-mic vocal capture anywhere on the T7 Shield, the Black drive, or the internal disk.

What exists instead is the same single vocal separation copied into 3–4 locations per song. Those copies all trace back to one separation apiece.

Verified by walking the T7 Shield directly, all 15,055 audio files on the drive, counting vocal files per folder. Every BELIEVEYOUME folder came back at exactly one.

Correction, 2026-09-05: Moises Premium exports backing vocals without labelling them.

Brandon flagged this after the audit below was published, and he is right. A Premium export can return a backing-vocal track whose track name is blank. The download then collapses to <song>-<key>-<bpm>-<hz>.wav with no stem token, which reads as a whole-song file rather than a stem.

Proof, measured. /Volumes/Black/Downloads/06 - Endless Summer-Bb major-142bpm-440hz.wav is a backing vocal. Against the Endless Summer lead stem it shows waveform correlation -0.0128 (independent audio, not a copy), envelope correlation +0.410 (sings along), and a consonant-interval share of 88.3% over 508 co-voiced frames against a 40.0% flat baseline, peaking on unison 34.4% and minor third 29.2%.

What this invalidates. Every sweep in the audit below keyed on vocal-ish filenames or on song-titled folders. An export with a blank track name is invisible to all of them. The counts below hold for labelled stems only.

What still holds for track 08. Using that confirmed backing vocal as a positive control, the Not Too Much candidates were retested for harmony. strings scored 40.0% against a 40.0% baseline, keys 61.0%, Solo Guitars 48.1%, and all of them peak on octaves, fourths and fifths rather than the unison-and-thirds signature of a real vocal stack.

Which single stems are widest

Since no song ships a split vocal, the next question is which vocal stems contain stacked singing worth separating. Stereo width is the honest proxy: a lone centered lead collapses to mono. Doubles and harmonies panned apart decorrelate the channels. Lower L/R correlation = wider.

What this measurement does and does not prove. Width is only a proxy. I also ran a pitch-confidence test on each side channel to tell a hard-panned second voice apart from plain reverb, and it came back inconclusive: voiced probability on the side ran 0.10–0.20, close to the mid channel's own values, which is what separated stems look like either way. So read the table as a ranking of candidates: Not Too Much and My Mirror Hates Me are the two most likely to be carrying stacked vocals, Jackie and Endless Summer almost certainly are not.

The one near-miss, ruled out by measurement

03 - The Mutiny is the only folder on any disk with extra unexplained files, seven of them, named -c, -g3, -h, -l, -oth, -s, -t, all full-length and present in no other song. I measured their spectra instead of reading the names.

Seven mystery files, seven stem roles missing from Mutiny relative to its sibling folders. They map one-to-one onto the drum kit plus a spare guitar. None is a vocal, and none correlates with the vocals stem beyond ordinary shared song structure.

Mutiny does prove the capability, though: it carries genuine hard splits at -RhythmGtr [L].wav and -RhythmGtr [R].wav. The per-channel split was only ever run on guitars.

What on the T7 does have multiple vocal tracks

The same drive-wide count found 31 folders holding two or more vocal-named audio files. Almost all are sample libraries, sermon archives, or loop packs. Just one group is a real multitrack band stem set, the Dream Theater Scenes from a Memory multitracks: seven songs, eight tracks each, with the lead and backing vocals on separate files.

Each folder carries Bass, Drums, Guitar 1, Guitar 2, Keys 1, Keys 2, Vocal, B Vocals. This is what a true multi-vocal stem set looks like on this drive, and it is the shape BELIEVEYOUME would need to match. If you were remembering separate lead and backing vocal files on the T7, these seven folders are almost certainly the memory.
One more near-match worth naming so it does not get mistaken later: /Volumes/T7 Shield/BandBooks/TameImpala/stems_vocals/isolated/ holds 12 vocal files, one per Slow Rush track. That is twelve songs in one folder, so it is still a single vocal per song.

How this was searched

If you want multiple vocal tracks, they have to be made. Moises offers a lead/backing vocal split as a separate track type; it was never run on this record, every folder came back with the plain combined vocals. Re-running separation with the vocal split enabled on Not Too Much and My Mirror Hates Me is the highest-yield place to start, since those two stems are measurably the widest.
