notes um and then we get the chord
progression from Parable which was flat
three 4 and one which is such a good
chord progression it always works it's

about those vocal harmonies so this is
the pre chorus it's amazing got all
these harmonies on his
voice and the first time I think what
I'm hearing is mainly just like a minor
chord so he's singing H and I hear oh
and I think I hear all maybe all these
could be wrong but that's what I think
I'm hearing um it could be actually
whole yeah it's probably that lower
ho which is just beautiful to hold that
out over all the chord
changes and he does his msma thing and
melisma is when you sing a bunch of
notes on one syllable reality you know
it's usually very active and it's just
gorgeous it's definitely part of his
sound yeah in this
whole but the second time I'm pretty
sure I
hear uh someone sing in a
ninth sorry keep

beautiful it does sound holy I think
it's a perfect technique or whatever
choice I should say for the word holy
because it does sound kind of coral and

he's singing um the melody down here

a little melisma there um being my

alone and then he's got an octave higher
which I think he's probably end up
ending up in his falsetta for this one

spelled Parable like l e not parab like
they spelled it but they did it like

clever uh be my um spinning weaving
around each new experience recogniz this
as a Holy Gift and celebrate this chance

Flat 3 4 which is a very popular CH
progression in Dorian and this part of
the song is in Dorian the guitar solo
that happened before this was also in
Dorian
so whereas
the the Riff and the base for the like
verse was totally
infian and then um so a chance to
be so tense to leave us
there now why is that so incredibly
gorgeous gorgeous is because he's going
up to what feels like you should find
like a an answer instead you're you land
on this question which is the
seventh and then you stay on the six
which also sounds kind of
incomplete and yet after you do it a few
times you start to feel like that is

just change the order of the four and

one just comes a little earlier than the
other um some of the melody notes hit at
different times against the different
chords but it doesn't yeah it doesn't
like completely change the sound so
that's a good good way to inject some
something new in your own music without
rewriting a bunch of stuff just change
the order of a

incredibly well distorted power chords
that goes down to flat 7even and then to
five I actually thought they kind of
didn't use five at all and I'm
wrong and you know you can feel like the
tempo just gets slow and it feels like
it's dragging drums are gone but they
what a flourish that the drums go out on
at the end
