Battle 1 · 2010 alone vs 2025
2025 wins. Clean sweep, 10–0.
2025 takes every seed, though the middle rounds are razor thin (seed 6 is 4.480 to 4.474, six-thousandths). Top-ten averages: 2025 = 4.512 versus 2010 = 4.472, a +0.040 margin. 2010 was the second year back from the breakup, so the ceiling sits lower.
2025 scored a little higher at every spot. A few were very close, but 2025 won all ten. 2010 was early after the band got back together, so it was good but not quite as high.

Battle 2 · 2010 + 2011 combined vs 2025
The 2-year team wins. Bracket 6–4, average edge too.
Pool the two comeback years, take the ten best across both, and it flips. 2025 still owns the top four seeds on the SPAC run and NYE, but from seed 5 down the combined pool sweeps the bottom six. Final bracket 6–4 for 2010+2011, and the top-ten average flips too: combined = 4.527 versus 2025 = 4.512, a +0.015 margin. Seven of the ten combined seeds come from 2011, the year the reunited band fully found its legs.
Now 2010 and 2011 join forces, and we take the ten best shows from both years together. 2025 still had the four best single shows. But past the top four, the team had more strong shows in a row, so it won six of ten matchups. Most of the team's best shows came from 2011.

Read this before you trust the 6–4.
Sample sizes are lopsided. 2025’s contenders rest on >500 to >1000 ratings, while nearly every 2010 and 2011 show carries only >50. In four of the six rounds the combined pool wins, a thin-sample old show (>50 votes) edges a heavily-voted 2025 show (>500 votes). Small samples tend to run high, since the handful of people who rate a fifteen-year-old show are usually the ones who loved it. The 10–0 sweep in Battle 1 is on firmer ground than the 6–4 flip in Battle 2.
One catch. The 2025 shows were scored by hundreds or over a thousand fans. Most of the old shows were scored by only about fifty. When only a few people rate an old show, they are usually the biggest fans, so the score can look higher than it really was. So Battle 1’s clean sweep is more solid than Battle 2’s close win.
How ties were broken
Several ratings look identical at three decimals (the two 4.509 shows, the two 4.507 shows in the combined pool). Phish.net carries more precision underneath. Seeding here uses that full hidden value from the ratings table, not the rounded display. Under the hood: Bethel 5/26/11 = 4.50943 edges 1/1/11 MSG = 4.50900, and 9/4/11 Dick’s = 4.50742 edges 8/5/11 Gorge = 4.50654. The next show out, DTE 6/3/11 at 4.50437, genuinely sits below the tenth seed rather than being dropped by a coin flip.
The takeaway
2025 holds the highest-rated show in this whole comparison (SPAC 7/27, 4.643, on more than a thousand votes) and beats 2010 alone at every seed. 2011 is the hinge. It carries seven of the ten combined slots, and once its high-4.5 nights (UIC 8/15, Super Ball at Watkins Glen 7/3, Blossom 6/4, the Bethel and Dick’s runs) join 2010’s best, the two-year pool out-depths any single year on the raw numbers. Peak, and the most trustworthy numbers, belong to 2025. Depth belongs to the comeback era once it draws from two years, with the sample-size asterisk noted above.
2025 had the single highest-rated show of all of these (July 27 in Saratoga), scored by more than a thousand fans. By itself, 2010 could not keep up. But 2011 was a really strong year, and adding it gives the team more good shows than 2025 has. So 2025 owns the top prize and the most trusted scores, and the 2010-plus-2011 team wins the whole contest on depth.
