Reunion-Era Year Rankings, 2009–2025
Every year since the 2009 comeback, ranked four ways: single best show (peak), the top-ten average, a confidence-adjusted average that discounts thin-vote shows, and how many nights cleared 4.5. Sort any column. This is the hub for the three battle pages below.
Every year of Phish since they got back together in 2009. We rank the years by their best single show, by their ten best shows, by a fairer score that trusts shows more when lots of fans voted, and by how many great shows each year had. Tap a column title to re-sort.

What the confidence adjustment changes
Raw top-ten averages flatter years whose best shows drew few votes, since a handful of devoted raters push a number high. The confidence-adjusted column pulls every show toward the all-era average (3.973) in proportion to how thin its vote count is, then re-averages the top ten. Three things move. 2015 pulls further ahead, because its top ten are all heavily voted (mostly >500). 2017 climbs to a clear second on the strength of the fully-voted Baker’s Dozen. And 2024, 2025, and 2011 slide, because several of their headline shows still sit at only >50 votes. Peak belongs to 2025, but the deepest, most trustworthy body of great shows belongs to 2015, with 2017 the runner-up.
The plain top-ten score can trick you. If only a few fans rate a show, they are usually the ones who loved it, so the score looks too high. The fair score fixes this by trusting shows more when many fans voted. When we do that, 2015 pulls even further ahead because tons of fans rated its best shows. 2017 jumps up to second. And 2024, 2025, and 2011 drop a little, because some of their big shows still have only about fifty votes.

All-era average across 689 rated shows: m = 3.973. For each show, adjusted rating = (v·r + C·m) / (v + C), with C = 50 and v the vote-bucket floor Phish.net publishes (>1000 → 1000, >500 → 500, >50 → 50). A show with 1000 votes barely moves; a show with 50 votes gets pulled halfway toward 3.973. The confidence-adjusted column is the mean of the ten adjusted top-ten shows. C is a transparency dial, not a law, and a bigger C punishes thin samples harder.

Four metrics, two kings. 2015 is the greatest single year of the reunion era by every measure that rewards a concentration of elite shows: highest top-ten average, highest confidence-adjusted average, and eleven nights over 4.5, more than any other year. 2025 owns the two records of consistency and peak: the single highest-rated show of the era (SPAC 7/27) and the highest full-year average across all 48 shows. 2017’s Baker’s Dozen is the most vote-robust challenger, second on the adjusted board. The comeback years 2009 and 2010 sit at the bottom of the reunion, and 2020 barely happened.
Four ways to measure, two winners. 2015 is the best year overall, with the most great shows and the best top-ten scores. 2025 has the single best show ever of this era and the most steady whole year. 2017 is close behind once you trust the vote counts. The first years back, 2009 and 2010, rank lowest, and 2020 barely had any shows.
