Television Without Pity

TWoP recapped television with snark from 1998 until it closed in April 2014. Its archive stayed online at brilliantbutcancelled.com until late 2021, then went dark. The index below rebuilds the whole recap library from the Internet Archive, show by show.

Archive check: the Wayback Machine holds page 1 of 3,284 of the 3,285 recaps checked so far (99.9 percent).

About this restoration

Television Without Pity started in 1998 as a place to recap Dawson's Creek. It grew into Mighty Big TV, took the Television Without Pity name by 2002, and NBCUniversal bought it in 2007. The site closed on April 4, 2014, and its forums stayed open until May 31 of that year. The recap archive then lived at brilliantbutcancelled.com until it went offline in late 2021.

The Internet Archive kept copies. The Wayback Machine captured most of the site in its final weeks of March and April 2014, and it kept capturing the BrilliantButCancelled copy for years after. The index reads TWoP's own final show list (406 shows) and each show's own recap table from those captures. Every recap here links to its archived first page, and that page links on to the rest of a long recap inside the Wayback Machine. Where the archive's index answered, each numbered page also gets its own link in the Pages column.

Titles, dates, grades and recapper names come straight from TWoP's recap tables. The recaps themselves stay where the Internet Archive keeps them, so every word you read there is the original. A page number shows only when the archive holds that page, and a missing number means no copy survived. Forum links point to each show's board or thread as TWoP's own 2014 forum menus named it. Pages the archive holds under a show that its recap table never named sit at the bottom of that show's page.
